People of all ages and backgrounds will have to deal with skin irritation at one point or another. No one is truly immune to this problem. One of the most common issues that people deal with on a regular basis is that of skin tags. Tags pop up around the eyelids, nose, neck, underarms, and any other areas that fold, crease, or have skin on skin contact. When the dermal tissues rub against each other they form a burst of collagen that results in a raised platform. That raised element is known as a tag, and is benign in general. Getting rid of these requires you to understand the root cause, and how to apply simple fixes to help with proper removal.
Understanding Skin Tags
Before getting into how to remove these, you should know that they are not dangerous. They are non-cancerous, and they are just outer growths on top of the skin. They can be the result of allergic reaction, hormonal shifts, obesity, or a sign of diabetes, pregnancy, or HPV. While there’s a variety of links that can be connected to this malady, most people should not worry about deeper links to this issue. The majority of individuals that have skin tags will only have them due to the friction that is caused by skin creases and folds. They are not painful, they should not cause alarm, and traditionally do not get worse or reappear once you remove them properly.
How To dry Up Random Skin Tags
In order to dry up tags, you’ll first need to identify them. It’s easy to confuse these with warts. If the appearance of these items are solitary, and not a part of a cluster, then they are in fact tags. Warts can appear to be similar, but will often be located in clusters and could end up on genitals, and around the pubic area. The following are the options that are most commonly used.
Citric Acid (Topical Solution)
The first option that you can utilize is citric acid, specifically from lemons. Cut a lemon and apply the flesh to the tag itself. This should be done 3 times a day, for at least 2 weeks. In time, the acidity of the fruit will cause the tag to dry up and fall off naturally.
Salicylic Acid (Topical Solution)
One of the most common acne treatments can also help with drying out skin tags. This is an acid that penetrates the dermis and causes it to dry out completely. It’s given to individuals that have acne, as it helps with clearing up the skin, usually due to the fact it dries out oily skin. In the case of tags, it penetrates to the core and dries things out from the inside. You can apply this topically twice a day, and see results within a week’s time.
Apple Cider Vinegar (Topical Solution)
Another option that you can use to dry up skin tags naturally is through the use of apple cider vinegar. Take a cotton ball and dab it into the vinegar. Then apply it directly to the tags that you have. Do this 3 times a day for a few weeks, and the tags will dry up without scarring or incident.
